Nanoplasty 101

Nanoplasty is a revolutionary, advanced hair smoothing treatment. It is definitely not a harsh chemical straightener, unlike many other traditional treatments on the market. Instead, it utilises nano-molecular technology and a unique blend of naturally derived organic acids (such as amino acids and plant extracts). This advanced formula achieves its powerful, long-lasting results by working as follows:

  1. Nano-Penetration: The particles in the formula are tiny (nano-sized), allowing them to penetrate the hair structure without harsh chemicals.

  2. Cuticle Sealing: The treatment works primarily by reacting with and sealing the outer hair cuticle layer. This is crucial for locking out humidity.

  3. Frizz Elimination: By creating a perfectly sealed, smooth surface, Nanoplasty eliminates frizz and prevents the hair from absorbing excess moisture.

  4. Glass-Like Shine: The result of a perfectly smooth cuticle is maximum light reflection, giving the hair that sought-after, glass-like shine and soft movement.

The result is hair that is effortlessly smooth, manageable, and radiates high-impact shine for up to 6 months.

Keratin

Nanoplasty

Nanoplasty or Keratin?

Traditional Keratin Smoothing works by primarily coating the hair with a protein layer. This is excellent for frizz reduction and lasts around three to four months. However, many traditional formulas may still contain harsh chemical derivatives, and the treatment tends to wash out over time.

Nanoplasty is a step forward. It is 100% Formaldehyde-Free and utilises organic acids and advanced nano-technology. This formula works with the hair to seal and restructure the outer cuticle, locking out frizz for a significantly longer duration. Nanoplasty is designed for maximum elimination of frizz and delivers that striking, glass-like shine for typically six months or more with correct aftercare.

Which one should I choose?

For clients looking to reduce frizz and gain manageability while retaining some natural curl or wave, Keratin Smoothing is often the ideal choice. However, if you are seeking the longest-lasting, straightest, and smoothest result possible, then Nanoplasty is our premier recommendation. Our senior specialists will assess your hair during your consultation to recommend the best smoothing treatment based on your specific hair texture and personal goals.

 FAQs

  • With correct aftercare (using professional, sulfate-free products), Nanoplasty results typically last six months or more. Longevity depends on your hair's texture and lifestyle.

  • Nanoplasty is designed for maximum smoothness and straightening. It will remove virtually all frizz and significantly reduce curl and wave, but it retains a natural-looking volume. It won't leave your hair "pin-straight" or flat like chemical relaxers.

  • Due to the detailed, technical process, a Nanoplasty appointment typically requires 3 to 4 hours in the salon, depending on the length and thickness of your hair.

  • No. Unlike older smoothing treatments, modern Nanoplasty systems often allow you to wash, tie up, or style your hair immediately after leaving the salon. Your specialist will confirm the specific aftercare guidelines for your formula.

 Health, Safety, & Suitability

  • Nanoplasty is 100% formaldehyde-free and does not contain the harsh chemical derivatives found in many older smoothing systems. It is considered a safer, more comfortable treatment for both clients and our specialists.

  • Yes. Nanoplasty is generally safe and often beneficial for coloured or bleached hair as it helps seal the cuticle. However, we recommend a consultation to perfectly time the Nanoplasty around any new colouring or lightening services to protect your investment (as your hair colour can fade one or two levels.)

  • Nanoplasty is designed to improve the health and integrity of your hair by sealing the cuticle, protecting it from external damage and humidity.

  • Nanoplasty seals the hair without the heavy coating often associated with older Keratin treatments. This means your hair retains natural movement and body while gaining smoothness and shine.

 Maintenance

  • To protect your investment and ensure maximum longevity, you must use professional, sulphate-free, and sodium-chloride-free shampoo and conditioner. Your specialist will recommend the best home care products from our retail range, like Amino Organicplex (we sell this at our Salon.)

  • Nanoplasty results typically gradually grow out with your natural hair, meaning you will notice your texture returning at the roots first.

  • This requires specific timing. We recommend doing any colour service two weeks after your Nanoplasty treatment. This allows the smoothing formula to fully settle and ensures your colour is not compromised (as the process does tend to fade your hair by 1-2 levels.) Our senior specialists will advise the exact timing during your consultation.

  • Yes, you can! However, both chlorine and salt water will reduce the longevity of your smoothing results. To protect your hair, always wet your hair with fresh tap water before and after swimming.
